Analysis:
a. Primary Subject Matter: There are two soldiers trying help a fallen soldier. They are located in front of a military vehicle in a sandy area.

b. Form:
  1. Scale is smaller than real life. The subjects are army action figures, not real people.
  2. The values are very dark with minimal highlights.
  3. The focus is mostly fuzzy except for main subject matter. This gives a night vision effect.
  4. There is a minimal variation of color. The artist uses a green cast.
  5. The point of view is straight on with the figures.
c. Interpretation:
  1. I think the artist, David Levinthal, is trying to say that war can be dark and tragic.
  2. Argument: The photo seems pretty self explanatory. The colors and values of color show that the subject matter is dark and gloomy. The fuzziness of the frame and scale of the figures gives an eerie, lonely feeling. The straight on point of view of the photo gives a better understanding and feeling of the figures. It gives you a feeling of tragedy because they are helping another wounded soldier.
